The Church was built during the 16th and 17th centuries. The most prominent feature of the building is the Moorish coffered ceiling made of pine wood by local Moriscos. The coffered ceiling is composed of a cover over the central nave and a dome that crowns the presbytery. The former uses a simple stroke, but is polychrome with rich renaissance ornamentation, geometric and grotesque motifs, and exotic animals and plants. The latter, polychrome as well, stands out because of its beauty and the admirable decoration of its tracery. This cover of the presbytery is very rich and its tracery is brightly coloured.
