The Granada High Plains Tourism Association emerged with the objectives of promoting the region and combining efforts in order to defend the interests of tourism operators in the areas of Baza and Huéscar. Year after year the association proves that its hard work justifies its creation; it also unites different business operators in the area under a common objective: The Granada High Plains. When the Association was founded, the first president was Encarnación Teruel, who got the organisation on its feet. Taking over for her a few years later was Dulcenombre Casado.  Finally, Lorenzo Reche took the position and is currently still the president.

The Association has gradually grown, watching its number of members increase ever year. At the present, there are more than 130 members and counting.
